Pumpkin Time!

Halloween is kind of a big deal in our house (understatement of the year).  So, of course, we took Sydney to pick out a pumpkin or two or three.... Last year we took her as well, but it went a little differently this time.

2010 Pumpkin Patch Visit
This year, Sydney rode around in a wagon as we picked out our pumpkins.  She had a blast sitting with the pumpkins, looking at the pumpkins, touching the pumpkins, and pointing at the pumpkins.  Now we can't wait to carve her pumpkin and dress her up on Halloween!

Look at this one!

NC Seafood Festival

Morehead City is home to North Carolina's Annual Seafood Festival.  Last year during the festival, Sydney was only a month old so we clearly didn't make it.  This year, we packed her up and had a great time.  We walked around the festival for a bit, and Sydney enjoyed doing some people watching and riding around in her stroller.

After walking around the festival, we stopped at a park also in MHC.  When I was a kid, I would have loved playing at this playground.  Sydney seemed to enjoy it, and as she becomes more mobile, I know she will love it even more.

Unbelievable playground

Such a cutie!
We also took some time to walk around Beaufort since everyone Morehead was so packed.  It was pretty quiet, which was nice.  In honor of the month of Halloween, we took a walk to Blackbeard's house but didn't have any ghost sightings.  We finished off a great day with Sydney's first taste of ice cream, which she of course loved!

First Haircut

A couple of weeks ago Sydney had her first haircut.  Now, she didn't have to have one by any means, but it was nice to even things up a little bit.  Sydney did great, didn't fuss or act scared at all.  We fed her Cheerios to try and keep her as distracted as much as possible.  She was wiggly, but Julie, the girl who did the haircutting, was wonderful...she went right along with the wiggling!

Funny face! :)

So, I'm not sure why, but we didn't get a finished product picture right after the haircut.  But here are a few shots from a few days later.  Not a largely obvious difference, but it's nice to be rid of some of the scraggly pieces!
